BEGINNINGS

The history of the BOTICHELLI brand specializing in creation of exclusive gifts, started in the city of Arezzo. That's where a young and ambitious designer Alberto Botticelli had an idea to create a company for the production of original, practical and stylish gift sets. Botichelli gifts bear an image of sophistication, elegance and individual touch. Each item is created in the best traditions of quality and exclusive approach.

1987
LETTER TO FATHER AND AN UNUSUAL GIFT

That year was a jubilee year for my father. I wanted to make an unusual gift that would stick in his memory forever! And then I decided to write a short letter in the form of an essay describing my life and the main hero of all my best doings was my father. I put that letter filled with the words of love and respect in a handmade gift envelope and complemented it with a stylish gift set. I had to collect each of the set's items one by one driving around the city in search of really interesting things. It was a long and exhausting action! But won't you do anything to grant a good portion of happiness and bright memories for your father?! And at that moment I first had this idea of creating a special shop for selling sets of sophisticated presents... By the way, my father was absolutely delighted with the gift!

1988
A STEP TOWARDS A DREAM

While cherishing an idea of creating my own company of original gifts I didn't jump into action immediately... I had to invent something very special! I wanted to create such presents that would show all depth of feelings for the gift recipient and at the same time would differ from other offers. Meaning that, having all their high-class and elegant qualities, they also should be unique and original. That's where my design experience came in handy. Then the step of creating a business plan followed.

1989
OPENING OF THE FIRST BOUTIQUE

The first boutique was opened in Via Trasimeno Street in May 1989. I had to rent modest-sized premises as I had not saved much of a start-up capital. At first, sales were very few but soon enough the first thousand of gifts was sold!

1990
NEW LEVEL

My business was developing so I was able to expand my company. A second boutique was opened and so I became an owner of a chain of original gifts shops. Though the chain was modest at the moment. The primary focus wasn't only on impeccable quality of the goods but also on their environmental friendliness!

1991
EUROVISION. NEW FRIEND. NEW OPPORTUNITIES.

At the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest held in Rome in "Studio 15 de Cinecitta" I met Federico Mouani, a businessman who lived and worked in the capital. We rather quickly became good friends and after a while, for some certain occasion, I sent him to Rome a gift from my collection. Federico was impressed and inspired! He offered to become a partner and open one more BOTICHELLI gift boutique in his hometown.

1992
THE CAPITAL CITY MARKET

In 1992 a new boutique was opened in Rome! The capital city market opened up new horizons. There many tourists became the buyers. It meant that BOTICHELLI products started to spread all over the world.

1997
EXPANDING THE BOUNDARIES

By 1997 a chain of BOTICHELLI gift shops had been set up in Rome.

2007
CHIBIDUE 2007

In May 2007 BOTICHELLI company participated in CHIBIDUE 2007, an international exhibition of gifts, perfumes, fashion jewellery and accessories. The event took place in Milan at the Fiera Milano City exhibition center.

2009
ANNIVERSARY

20th anniversary of the BOTICHELLI brand! The company keeps on developing. As the company's director I regularly participate in international trainings and educational courses (for example, such as Insead, Singapore), also I get education at London Business School. New successes and new achievements are waiting ahead!

2011
FAMILY BUSINESS

My business turns into a family business as my son, Alessandro, becomes my main helping hand in business! And it's so gratifying. After all, from the very beginning I was concerned about the family continuity of the business.

2020
KEEPING UP WITH THE TIME

To be in step with the times, it was decided to open an online shop of BOTICHELLI exclusive gifts. We believe that this new upsurge in the company's development will bring a fresh stream of success and will significantly expand the geography of purchases. Despite the fact that the Internet sales exclude direct contact with the buyers, the unchanged principle of our company will remain the same: to focus on the individual needs of our customers!
